Why you should care
Because when you choose to engage with online content, there’s always a risk that something could happen that an artist, editor, or business can’t do anything out. I have negotiated with some of the most expensive (and most unethical) third party vendors in the world, and the ethical thing to do here is tell you the truth: if you want to read Torsion, and if you choose to support it, you are subject to and may end up supporting the third party vendors associated with the Newsletter.
I do not have any control over who Beehiv does business with. If you care about that, you need to read their list and then decide if that works for you.

Something people fail to realize, and part of the greatest scams in United States Healthcare, is businesses are subjected to so many terms and conditions and lawyers can literally work for insanely good rates hourly just to argue it isn’t someone’s fault and they win all the time. Which means you might get hurt, and no one has to take accountability for it. There are many ethical lawyers out there, but they have loans and lives, too. And arguing about liability and saving a company from having to pay out is just a job like any other, and lawyers have to eat, too.
Here is what is in my control: If you have a problem with Torsion or its service providers/third party vendors, tell me.
I may not be able to solve the problem, but I will read the terms and conditions and figure out who the vendor said I can talk to about it. I cannot guarantee an outcome or even the result you want, but that is the result I can offer.
That’s how ethical lawyers and Juris Doctors and regular Doctors operate, and I’m no exception.
You do not have to stew in anger, if someone hurts you as a result of reading Torsion or they make you feel like we’re not living our values, let’s have a conversation and see what we think. I can and have migrated technology platforms and providers before. I am completely agnostic as to vendors and platforms on purpose - it’s pretty much the only way to not be tied to their unethical multi-million dollar mistakes and, more importantly, not be someone who is okay hurting other people then shrugs and says ‘not my problem’.
It’s someone’s problem. Here’s my way of dealing with it in the ways I know how.
If you get nothing else from this newsletter, please understand that your life is paperwork and third party vendors get all kinds of things from you that you don’t even know about since they never tell you, but it is your right and within your ability to read their terms, ask hard questions, and talk to someone about something you don’t like.
That doesn’t make you dramatic or mean, it makes you curious, and curious is a superpower, readers. Its why Torsion even exists.

Well, I can’t make you or anything, but then if you complain about something you dislike and I ask if you read this and you say yes but when I ask you a question the answer is no so I send you this article and suggest you read it, you can’t get mad about it.
