What Torsion Will Have

Torsion is a newsletter centered around medical awareness, advocacy, and resources. Here is the content/trigger warnings I anticipate Torsion to have as of today:

  • Medical-Related Terminology

  • Sad, hard, or occasionally painful perspectives on someone’s healthcare journey. This includes discussions about end-of-life, mental health, etc.

What Torsion Will Not Have

A newsletter is a living project, it is expected to grow and evolve. As of this quarter, I do not anticipate Torsion to have:

  • Detailed medical pictures that could make readers nervous. There may be links to see diagrams and things, but I’d prefer you could choose to click them before just having to see them.

  • Stories purely focused on rage and suffering of the injustice of the healthcare system. To be direct: I feel people’s feeling on the matter are more than valid and we should hear them more often as readers/people. This particular newsletter, however, is focused around the advocacy and sharing of resources, so my goal is to try to shape the work to be, if not emotionally restrained, then emotional only in that it serves to educate.

If you have Content/Trigger Warning Concerns

Please fill out this form and tell us what the concern is/how we can make your experience as a reader better. I cannot promise we will always agree on the outcome, but I always read concerns and think them through. The goal is to make reading this newsletter a good/important/empowering experience. To that effect, your reading experience really matters to me and I want us all to be comfortable.

Final Thoughts

If you’re still here, thanks for reading. I hope this content/trigger warning policy sounds fair. Let me know if it doesn’t!

And finally, a hand-written thank you note because you deserve it:

A hand-written digital Thank You note, the text is dark blue against a white background. It says Thank you for being Intentional.
